“I always liked walking by the river.

The city’s always packed, people pushing and pulling, shoving and shouting. But down by the waterfront, the only rhythm is in the tide, and the little waves that lap at the concrete embankments.

I’ve seen the river run every colour. Sometimes green, sometimes blue. Sometimes you can see the rainbow splash of oil slicked across the top, and one summer it even ran orange.

But it’s best at night.”
